This year, WomenCount and the Electing Women Alliance are tracking 20 states where your donation can have the most aggregated impact:
Helping Democrats take control of Congress;
Electing women to important statewide offices; and
Moving women toward parity in state legislative chambers.
And the first state where we can go furthest toward these goals pre-primary? California.
During California’s June 2 primary, voters will decide the nominee for governor and lieutenant governor, as well as six statewide offices—meaning a majority of its constitutional offices could soon be held by women. Plus, California only needs to add nine more women to its state legislature to achieve parity.
Reminder: California has never had a female governor.
